Chris has been in the search industry since 1996. He was hired by a large international staffing firm based on his prior his track record in sales. Within a year’s time, Chris achieved the #2 producer in the region and top 20 internationally among 175 offices. From there, Chris partnered up with his former Regional Manager to start up a new search firm, where he managed the branches in Dallas and Fort Worth. In 2003, Chris joined a local firm as a non-equity partner, started and built a multi-million dollar Technology Practice prior to the company’s acquisition. In 2007, Chris co-founded The RJ Byrd Search Group.
Chris is a member of Entrepreneurs Organization, has served on the Board in various capacities and in 2014-2015 is serving as President. Chris was a college athlete and continues to lead an active life style. He’s been married for 19 years, is a proud father of two and volunteers his time to local charities.
Partner and Practice Manager
Chris has been in the search industry since 1999. After his career in finance and operations, he joined the industry in an Accounting & Finance practice and managed that division until the company was sold. Upon completion of the sale Chris maintained his focus on Dallas/Fort Worth, as well as, participating in the company’s effort to implement a more strategic search process across its national platform of offices. In 2010 he joined RJ Byrd Search Group as Practice Manager for Finance & Accounting.
Chris was a Division 1 scholarship athlete, is married and the proud father of two children. He participates in youth sports and other youth programs. Chris is a member of Vistage International’s Key Man Group.

RJ Byrd is leading the search and selection process for a Controller opportunity for a company based in DFW. This is a fantastic chance to work with a talented CFO in an effort to help the company implement processes and methodologies that support continued growth. It should offer a noticeable opportunity for professional development based on the visibility and influence of the role. The company has been able to assemble a talented executive team and this person will interact with them extensively. The Controller will be responsible for designing and implementing processes and controls to (i) ensure the timely, accurate recording and reporting of business performance, (II) safeguard the assets of the company through the development of documented controls and procedures, and (iii) identify and help develop opportunities to enhance processes. In this capacity, the Controller will oversee the accounting, reporting and control environment of the enterprise. This role with act as a business partner to the CFO and be someone who can manage the day to day financial operations as well as understand the intricacies of how demand is driven and how to support that demand in an efficient manner. S/he will be a key player in the company and will work closely with the leaders of all divisions and functions as well as middle management of the organization.
